You are being invited to paste a family’s words into a translation tool and to point families toward a librarian that answers questions, so you deserve the trust document, plainly, the workers’ edition. Here is what these tools do and refuse to do, and every line of it can be read aloud with a family present, which is the standing test for this whole room.

Nothing is stored. The Translation Bench and the Librarian are stateless: the request carries the text, the response carries the answer, and the server remembers neither. No accounts exist anywhere in this library, nothing is logged against a name, and the note you paste at 9pm leaves no record on our side at 9:01. The family’s own records live in their own device’s Story Cloth, visible to them, deletable by them, and never on a server at all.

Nothing scores, flags, or predicts. The tools here will not assess a student, rank a family, estimate a risk, or predict an outcome, and this is not a current-version limitation; it is the constitution. The Librarian answers only from pages this community has reviewed, names its sources, and ends every answer at a human being. When it does not know, it says so and points to a person.

The machine is the first pass, never the last word. Every translated surface in this library carries the same promise: immediate machine translation so nobody waits, even overnight, and at either side’s request, any translated communication gets a human review and refinement, with the smoothed version following. For anything formal, an IEP draft, a legal notice, anything signed, the office interpreter holds the bridge, and the student is never the interpreter.

The tools are built to matter less over time. The measure of this library’s technology is its own decreasing necessity: as your relationships with families thicken, as the letters and notes and braided preps do their work, the machine in the middle should be needed less, and that decline is the design working. No tool here is built for lock-in, engagement, or your dependence.

What to tell a family who asks, in one breath: this is machine translation, immediate so nobody waits; a human reviews and refines it whenever either of us asks; nothing you or I type is stored anywhere; and nothing in this library scores anyone.
